Dog training using methods based on
science and how animals learn
People are taught to train dogs using gentle, fun and positive techniques all dogs love and understand. All training methods enhance the relationship between dogs and people and are built on trust and cooperation. There are no chain, choke, shock or prong collars used. No leash jerks or punishments are given.
Private Lessons
Private lessons offer the convenience of training in a home environment and provide dog owners with one-on-one attention and instruction. Topics covered for private lessons include; attention, play-biting, recalls, sit, stand, down, stay, house-training, loose-leash walking, heeling, leave it, take it, place and not jumping up on people. Private lessons are scheduled by appointment and individualized according to the needs of both owners and their dogs. A series of private lessons is available that covers the sequences taught in Basic Manners classes. Paying for a series is nonrefundable.

Behavioral Consultations
Behavioral consultations provide dog owners with assistance for solving common problems, such as fearfulness, aggression, anxiety, play-biting, house-training, chewing, barking and digging. Consultations help dog owners prevent and solve problems successfully. Humane, effective techniques and gentle approaches are used. Behavioral consultations are approximately 2 to 3 hours in length and are scheduled by appointment.
Pet Sitting and Dog Walking
Pet sitting and dog walking are available for clients who are at work all
day or out of town. Your dog or kitty (or other animal friends) will be
cared for, played with, walked, and fed. Sorry, no overnights.

Phone Consultations
Consultations by phone are available for dog owners when either time or travel is inconvenient for scheduling a personal one-on-one behavioral consultation with their dog or when there is no one availablein their immediate area who can assist them. Phone consultations offer dog owners the opportunity to understand their dogs' behaviors so that they can treat and address behavioral problems and training concerns humanely and successfully. Phone consultations can help dog owners with the following:
- House-training
- Play-biting
- Jumping up on people
- Excessive attention-seeking
- Barking
- Fear
- Aggression
- Anxiety
The average length of a phone consultation varies from 50 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Phone consultations are scheduled by appointment. The Phone Consultation Agreement must be signed prior to a consultation.
